Wake Watch
Real-time wake turbulence detection system
Wake Watch provides real time detection and tracking of aircraft wakes in most weather conditions. It uses new, patented technology to obtain an unprecedented level of accuracy and resolution.
Where implemented Wake Watch has generated enough data to allow detailed understanding of wake behaviour, which in turn can be used to support a case for decreased aircraft spacing, and to increase safety.
If deployed in an operational environment, Wake Watch is capable of providing ‘red-light’ warnings of unusually long-lived wake turbulence. Wake turbulence can exist even beyond current permitted aircraft spacing in some weather conditions.
Wind Watch
Real time, reliable wind profiler
Wind Watch is a new-generation wind profiler, able to provide detailed and accurate information about winds to 300 meters.
The data Wind Watch makes available on wind direction and strength at altitude provides precise real time warnings of wind shear, increasing safety and reducing expensive go-arounds.Unlike LIDAR-based wind profilers Wind Watch is not dependent on visibility and can ‘see through’ fog and inversion layer to report on wind conditions and hazards above them.
Importantly, Wind Watch meets ICAO update rate requirements and is suitable for operational meteorological use.
Wind Watch is quick and easy to deploy as either a permanent or mobile trailer-based unit.
Sky Watch
Accurate and reliable atmospheric structure monitoring
Sky Watch provides an accurate profile of atmospheric structure up to an altitude of 800 meters.
Real-time information about the atmosphere is particularly important in maintaining safety, as inversion layers can result in long-lived wake turbulence at or about the height of the inversion.
Sky Watch, when used in conjunction with Wake Watch, can provide a very reliable predictor of wake behaviour, and therefore advance warning of potential wake turbulence issues
Sky Watch is quick and easy to deploy and has high availability to 300 maters. Above 300 meters availability may be more materially limited by weather conditions.
